- To create a new class browse to Classes and Click the 'New Class' button. (Note: Before creating new classes in RES you must first setup Course Fee Presets and Class Setting Presets.)
- Enter the class start and end date. You can click the calendar icon to popup a calendar to assist in selecting the dates. (The start date establishes the site, coordinator, course type, and student type availability.)
- Enter the class time or Click the binoculars icon and Select the class time from the list defined in Class Time Lookup Lists. If you hover the mouse over the Class Time label the full class time text will popup.
- Select a site. (Site availability is based on the class's start date. Changing a site will set the display address to the default site address. Verify the display address in the Optional Details section. )
- Select a coordinator. (Coordinator availability is based on the class's start date. Most training providers will have a single coordinator with military providers being the exception. The selected coordinating authority determines the business rules (required fields, state documents, completion cards, etc.) used for the class. Generally, military providers train under the state business rules with the exception of military specific courses.)
- Select a course type. (Course type availability is based on the course types approved at the site at the class's start date and the course types approved by the coordinating authority at the class's start date.)
- Select a student type. (Student type availability is based on the site at class's start date and the coordinator at class's start date. Most training providers will have a single student type with military providers being the exception. With the public student type chosen the class will be shown to everyone on the public RES site(based on site availability and class type) whereas if other student types are selected without selecting the public student type then the end user must select the appropriate military branch based on the class's chosen student types in order to see the class on the public site and will be required to enter a military id, branch and status.)
- Enter the class size.
- You may save the class at this point. Saving the class will show the class on the public enrollment site based on the site availability and class type. If you plan to offer enrollment thru the public RES site proceed to the optional details section prior to saving as this is very important and includes the location and directions to the site/class.
